1. Using 1Ruler
You may use the public ruler and guides for personal, educational and ordinary business tasks. Do not deliberately overload the service, bypass access controls, probe private configuration, inject malicious code or interfere with other visitors.
2. Measurement accuracy
Pixel measurements use browser coordinates. Physical centimetre, millimetre and inch measurements depend on calibration, display hardware, browser zoom, device pixel ratio, operating-system scaling and the monitor currently in use. A calibration that is correct for one display may not be correct for another.
3. Not a certified instrument
1Ruler is a convenience tool and is not represented as a certified legal-for-trade or laboratory instrument. For medical decisions, safety-critical engineering, regulated manufacturing, commercial certification or legal measurement, use equipment suitable for that purpose.
4. Your responsibility
You decide whether an online ruler is appropriate for a particular task. Check the scale with a known physical reference whenever accuracy matters, and repeat calibration after changing monitor, browser zoom or display scaling.
5. Intellectual property
The site's original interface, writing, visual identity and source code are protected by applicable intellectual-property rules. Ordinary linking is welcome. Republishing substantial portions as another service, removing ownership notices or presenting the site as your own is not permitted without authorization.
6. Third-party services
The site may use hosting, analytics, consent or advertising providers. External services have their own terms and privacy practices. A link to another website does not mean we control or endorse every statement on that site.
7. Availability and changes
We may improve calibration methods, translations, URLs, content or infrastructure. We cannot promise uninterrupted availability on every browser, network or device, and maintenance or security work may temporarily affect access.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided without a promise that every physical measurement will be exact on every screen. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded.
